HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS to our 2nd graders, upon receiving their First Eucharist this Sunday. We congratulate six of our students – Deanna Backes, Emma Goetz, Charlie Harrison, Grayson Koetting, Zachary Vandike, & Garet Wood, along with all the children in our parish receiving First Eucharist this weekend. Please pray for these youngters as they celebrate this Sacrament of Initiation.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Sketch Day students for a job well done! Special congratulations to  Jared Evers & Emily Love, for placing third in the mixed media category, and to Cameron Haeffner for special merit. We are proud of all the students attending, including Bill Parr, Makinzie Morgan, Dakota Graham,  & Joe Beck.

OLOS SCHOOL  is pleased to announce the appointment of our new principal, Mr. Josh Vandike. We offer him our congratulations! Please pray for Mr. Vandike, as he takes on his new responsibilities. At this time we would also like to thank Mrs. Marianna Werdehausen, for her service to our school these last two years as principal and for the last twelve years in her teaching responsibilities. We wish you the very best!

FEE REMINDER:  It is school policy that students will only receive final report cards if ALL SCHOOL FEES ARE PAID IN FULL. For 8th graders, the same applies, as well as no release of records to other schools and no graduation diploma if fees are not paid in full. Included in this are lunch, preschool, extended care, book/tech, lost library or textbooks, non-returned uniforms, out of and in parish school support, etc. FINAL FEE REMINDERS ARE IN TODAY’S FOLDER.

MORNING EXTENDED CARE STUDENTS:  On Friday, May 8th, please drop your before care children off at the side kitchen door (behind bank - where staff parks). Carla will be preparing the lunch that morning for the field trip.

CHANGE OF TIME! The final day of school is Thursday, May 14th, which will be a half-day, dismissing at 12:00 noon. Lunch will be served. The Awards Ceremony will begin at 10:00 am that morning (INSTEAD OF 9:30 AM) and DARE graduation for 5/6/7 graders & parents will be at 9:00 am.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION:  Thanks to everyone who sends in the Box Tops and especially to Gina Adrian for taking care of this campaign. The school just received $174.10 for a recent submission. Keep on clippin’!

BEEF STICKS:  We still have beef sticks left. We will not be selling them again next year. If you would like some, send a note saying how many. You can pay with cash or check to OLOS. They are $1 each. Thank you for your support!

DRESS DOWN PASSES: All remaining birthday and meeting dress down passes may be used on WEDNESDAYS – due to the fact that the remaining Fridays are all scheduled dress down days.

REMINDER TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS BRINGING LUNCHES FROM HOME:  Please see that your child’s lunch has everything they need for their meal – plates, utensils, condiments, napkins. The lunch program cannot afford to supply these things if the student is not buying the daily lunch.

TRASH BAGS: We have some rolls of white trash bags (15 gallon) for sale that are left over from last year’s fundraiser. They are $12.00 a roll.  Make checks payable to Our Lady of the Snows Parish. (We are sold out of the blue 55 gallon type.)

EXTENDED CARE: There will be extended care services offered both the morning and afternoon of the last day of school, May 14th. School will dismiss at 12:00 Noon.

GARDENING COMMITTEE:  We are asking for volunteers for the summer gardening committee. If we get enough help, families are usually assigned to two weeks during the summer to keep the watering done & to pull weeds. Please send a note to the office with your offer to help. So far, Bryan and Stacey Evers, Brittany Goetz, Lynn Morgan & Amanda Koetting have volunteered.

READING COUNTS TRIP:  On Friday, May 8, 2015, the students earning 200 Reading Counts points will be enjoying a trip to Tan-Tar-A’s Timber Falls Water Park. We are departing at 8:00 am, enjoying the water park from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and returning back to school by 2:00 pm. When we return, we will enjoy recess & a snack. Sack lunches, provided by the kitchen, will be enjoyed inside the park (unless you designated otherwise, and all students normally bringing a sack lunch will need to provide their own that day as well).  There will be no bikinis allowed on this trip. If your daughter chooses to wear one, they must cover with a T-shirt. Tankinis are OK, but they must cover the middle. Boys cannot wear jean shorts, they must be trunks. No rivets allowed. You may send a life jacket for your child, but Tan-tar-a will supply them as well.

FULL BUS!  We are taking a bus on the R. C. trip that holds 70, three to a seat (PK – 8, so it will be tight). We currently have 70 students wishing to ride the bus. This leaves no room for teachers. We need at least three additional spots for teachers. If anyone would like to haul their own children, please contact Nancy in the school office.

8th GRADE ATHLETES ATTENDING COLE R-V NEXT YEAR: Cole R-V is sponsoring free sports physicals on May 6, 2015. Forms are available at Cole R-V & must be returned to Cole R-V by May 5th.
