ITALIAN FEAST NEWS:  Thank you to everyone who worked and came out in support of our Italian Feast. Together we raised approx $5,100.00 for the school. 

8TH GRADE RETREAT: The eleven 8th graders will be attending the annual retreat in Folk on March 12th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The cost for the retreat is $8 each – which is NOW DUE.  Checks may be made payable to OLOS School. Students will need to provide their own sack lunches and drinks. We are in need of parent drivers for the day. Patsy Bond has volunteered to drive, and she can haul six passengers, so we need to transport five more students. Please call the school office if you can help transport these students. Thanks!

HELIAS CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL will hold informational meetings on Tuesday, February 25, and Thursday, February 27, for incoming freshman parents. Registration materials and placement test scores will be explained at these meetings.  The meetings will be held in the school commons from 6-7 p.m.  No sign up is necessary; just pick one of the
meetings.  Packets that are not picked up at the meetings will be mailed.

ROOM PARENTS: Thank you so much for the great Valentine parties! We appreciate your enthusiasm and support in the classrooms. This was our last classroom party for the school year. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
  
TRASH BAG FUNDRAISER begins today and extends through March 2nd. Please see flyer and order forms enclosed in today’s folder. Please collect payment at time of order (checks payable to OLOS School). Thank you for your support!

BOOKFAIR & BREAKFAST:  Due to scheduling conflicts, the book fair breakfast originally scheduled for Feb 23rd has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2013.

BOOK FAIR BREAKFAST & BOOK FAIR FIESTA NIGHT volunteer sign – up is in today’s folder. If you are able to help with these opportunities for service please sign up and return on Monday.
CHANGE YOUR CALENDAR:  School will NOT be in session on Mon., Feb. 24th and WILL BE in session on Fri., Feb. 21st due to Religious Ed. Institute.

OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES to our music teacher, Laura Forbis, and her family, on the loss of her husband, Pat. Please pray for Laura and her family.

DUE TO THE SNOW DAYS, SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION ON THURSDAY, APRIL 17TH (1/2 DAY), TUESDAY, APRIL 22nd. THURSDAY, MAY 15TH, AND FRIDAY, MAY 16TH (1/2 DAY).

SODA TABS: The Student Council is collecting soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please begin saving these for this most worthy cause. You may send them into the office anytime. Thank you!

BOX TOPS:  Please send in all Box Tops for Education. We will be mailing these off at the end of February. Thank you for your support!

OUR SINCERE THANK YOU TO JUSTIN MUSICK who only charged for the salt and fuel used to treat our parking lots the day of the Italian Feast. If you see him, thank him, and support his business – Ultimate Lawn Care, if you have a need.

MARY’S HOME LITTLE LEAGUE SIGN UP: Wed., Feb 26th and Thursday, Feb. 27th – 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the K of C Hall (Ball field), Mary’s Home

OLOS SCHOOL GOLF TOURNAMENT: The annual Golf Tournament fundraiser is scheduled for Sat. May 10th. All interested should attend the planning meeting on Wed., Feb. 19th @ 6:30 pm at the KC ball park hall.

PARISH MISSION:  Mark your calendars now for OLOS Parish Mission to be held from March 9th through the 12th. Fr. John Mark Ettensohn, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate from Belleville, IL will be conducting the mission. More information will be in future notes, but make plans now to attend these four evenings.
