The Christmas Program – Christmas Caroling – will be on Sunday, December 11th, after the 10:00 am Mass. All students should wear their Sunday best – or dress code clothing to this event. Some of the classrooms have made other arrangements for costumes – but these expectations have been made known to the students/parents involved. If you have not heard otherwise, assume your child is to dress in his/her Sunday best. Hope to see everyone there!

We will have a DRESS REHEARSAL on Firday, Dec. 9th at 2:00 pm. If you have relatives/friends who are unable to attend on Sunday, this would be a great opportunity for them to watch the children sing.

This year for Christmas students will be exchanging gifts within the classroom. Girls should buy for girls and boys should buy for boys. Gifts should be of $5 value.

Congratulations to Megan (3rd) and Charlie (PK) on the birth of their new little sister, Abbygail Louise, born on Wednesday of this week. The little bundle of joy came into this world weighing 6 lbs. 9 oz. Congratulations to mom and dad – Rachael and Bobby and Grandma Louise Eickhoff, K/1 teacher here at OLOS School. Welcome baby Abbygail!!!

Congratulations to Erin Love and Aiden Schulte, lucky winners of the Student Council’s fundraiser baskets for Somalia.

Thursday is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary – a Holy Day of Obligation. ALL SCHOOL STAFF WILL BE ATTENDING THIS MASS. If you arrive late with your child (after 7:50 am), please bring them directly to Church, as the school doors will be locked.

PICTURE PACKETS ARE IN YOUR FOLDER TODAY (if you ordered). IF YOU ARE NOT PLEASED WITH YOUR PICTURES, PLEASE RETURN THE PACKET – INTACT – TO THE OFFICE ON MONDAY. PICTURE RETAKES ARE TUESDAY MORNING AT 8:00 AM. ALSO – WE NOTICED THAT SOME PICTURE PACKETS MAY BE MISSING – SO LET OFFICE STAFF KNOW ON MONDAY MORNING IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE WHAT YOU ORDERED. WE WILL FIELD COMPLAINTS FOR THE PICTURE COMPANY THIS ONE TIME ONLY ON MONDAY ONLY – SINCE THERE SEEMS TO BE SEVERAL PROBLEMS. (After Monday parent must contact Wagner Portrait Studio if there is a problem.)

In consideration of the Christmas season, the dress down day on Friday will be a “Dress Down for a Quarter Day” instead of the usual $1.

PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS BEFORE 7:25 am. It is cold outside and students will have to wait outside or go to extended care and be charged the $5 daily fee for drop in. We WILL begin to enforce this policy immediately.

ATTENTION CHEER LEADERS: We will have our first practice this Monday, from 3:00 to 4:15 pm. Please remember to bring a note, with permission to stay for practice. GO COUGARS!!!

NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE MADE INDIVIDUALLY TO PARENTS. If we dismiss early, we try to get an email out to parents. PLEASE TRY TO LIMIT CALLS TO SCHOOL ASKING IF WE ARE DISMISSING EARLY. Once the decision has been made, we contact the radio stations and television stations immediately. However, WE CANNOT DO THIS IN A TIMELY FASHION IF ALL THE PHONE LINES ARE TIED UP FIELDING INCOMING CALLS. Please also keep in mind that we are always looking out for the safety of all students and staff. If we call early, and not much happens weather-wise, all we can say is “better safe than sorry”. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
