8^th GRADE GRADUATION: We congratulate the four students graduating from the eighth grade on Saturday evening. They are: Macy Adrian, Sara Beck, Gracie Evers, and Tori Evers. This is a very special group of girls and we will miss them so much! Good luck to you all as you celebrate this very important milestone in your young Catholic life!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Vandike family on the birth of their new baby girl! Isabelle Grace made her appearance on Tuesday afternoon. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. Big brothers Zachary & Nicholas, and big sister Rylie are thrilled, as well as proud parents Laura & Josh. Please pray for this family as they celebrate this new addition to their family!

SCHOOL BOARD: Congratulations to the newly elected OLOS School Board members - Jermiah Schulte, Joan Doerhoff, and Shannon Lage. Other members are Loren Groose, Jason Bittle, and Roselyn Wood. Outgoing members are Stacey Evers, Allen Doerhoff, and Ashley Kempker. We thank all of these individuals for their time and dedication to OLOS School! 

TRACK TEAM: Please bring your track shirts and shorts with you to school on Monday for a team picture.

This will be the final notes going home from the office for this school year. It’s hard to believe we are at the end of the year already – seems like we just started! We wish you a very fun, happy, and safe summer! We will see you back on August 15^th!

READING COUNTS TRIP is this Tuesday, May 8^th. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILDREN AT SCHOOL NO LATER THAN 7:15 AM. If you are driving your own children, you must sign them in at the aquarium. (as well as sign them out when leaving the group for the day). Parents’ admittance fee will be approximately $27 (plus tax?) and will need to be paid at the entrance. This is a 10% reduction on the normal rate of $29.95. You should have all other information needed to plan your trip, as it was attached to the permission forms sent home this week. However, if you have any further questions, please call the office.

STUDENTS not attending the Reading Counts trip will remain at school, under the supervision of a classroom teacher, and do school work, as a normal day.

CONGRATULATIONS to our second graders, who will be receiving their First Eucharist this Sunday at the 10:00 am Mass. They are: Shane Beck, Jacob Bittle, Nora Burrows, Alyssa Eickhoff, Braden Evers, Natalie Groose, Alex Hagenhoff & Lane McKenna. We congratulate these eight, as well as all the other second graders in our parish receiving their First Eucharist this weekend. Please keep these young people in your daily prayers as they receive this Most Blessed Sacrament of Initiation.

PEP ASSEMBLY!!! The Student Council is sponsoring an end of year pep assembly for Tuesday, May 10^th at 2:00 pm. Along with fun activities, we will honor our 8^th graders, as this will be their last day in attendance at OLOS School. ☹ All school parents and community members are invited to attend! Come on out and have some fun with us! Though not noted on the calendar you are receiving today, this will be a spirit dress down day. Please make a note of that now so you don’t forget when the time comes!

MAY CROWNING: Thanks so much to all who sent in the fresh flowers for the May altar on Thursday. Each student was able to carry a flower up to the altar and it was beautiful!

REGISTRATION PACKETS for the 2018-19 school year were sent home two weeks ago. They were due April 23^rd. If you have not already done so, please return yours so that your paperwork may be processed accordingly. We make reading count shirt orders, book orders, and do much planning by your registration responses. Please return on MONDAY. Thank you!

PROGRESS REPORTS were sent home last Friday. If you have not already done so, please sign & return them by Monday. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.

READING COUNTS ended April 25^th. If your child qualified for the trip, you will find a survey in today’s folder. It is extremely important that you return this form on MONDAY, so that we may plan the specifics of the trip. The date for the trip is set for Tuesday, May 8^th. We will be going to the Wonders of Wildlife Adventure Aquarium (Bass Pro) in Springfield, MO by bus. Parents are invited to go along and may transport their own child/ren, and ONLY their own child/ren, and then sign in at the aquarium. Only teachers and students will ride the bus. Only students, staff, parents may attend this trip – sorry – no younger siblings. Other plans are being finalized. THERE WILL BE NO FEE FOR STUDENTS TO ATTEND THE TRIP (The cost of the bus & student admittance of $10 is paid for through recent fundraisers.) MAY CROWNING: At Thursday’s Mass, the school children will be placing fresh flowers at the May altar for Mary. The students will process in at the beginning of Mass & place them on the altar. Other parts of the liturgy will reflect the celebration of May Crowning. We ask that you send in fresh flowers with your child Thursday morning – they can be from your yard, from alongside the road, or purchased. Any additional donations would be great in case some are not able to get flowers to school on Thursday. Thank you so much!

FARE THEE WELL! We would like to formally announce the resignation of Mrs. Pleus. Mrs. Pleus has accepted a position at I. C. in Jefferson City as a 4^th grade teacher. We will miss you Whitney, but we wish you the very best! We thank you for three years of service to Our Lady of the Snows School!
