MIDTERM PROGRESS REPORTS:

3-8 Progress Reports are available online. To access Progress Reports on your family portal - sign in, then follow these steps:

On left, click “Student”

On left, directly under “Student Home” click “Grades”

In upper middle/left screen click “Midterm Progress Report”

If you have more than one student, you can switch between them on the upper left. Please sign the slip enclosed in today’s folder, acknowledging that you reviewed the report. It is a good idea to log in weekly to check grades.

K-2 Progress Reports are enclosed in today’s folder. Look these over and if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the classroom teacher.

SERVICE HOURS: While you are checking Progress Reports in your family portal, please take the time to update your service hours. Remember - the expectation is that you do at least 20 hours per household per school year, and this does not include your child’s service hours. If you are not able to fulfill this obligation, you may pay the hours out @ $10/hour, for a total of $200.

24-25 PARENT PLANNING meeting on Monday, April 15th @ 5:30 pm in the school cafeteria to plan activities for the students and staff in the upcoming school year. Please plan on attending or if you have ideas and can’t make it, contact Jena Schwaller or the school office.

VIP DAY: Thanks to all who joined us on Wednesday morning for Mass and fellowship. The students always so enjoy having their “important people” here at school with them – it makes them feel very special! Many thanks to Amber Schulte, Jena Schwaller, & Paige Chapman for coordinating our VIP treats & activities. Check out our pictures on Facebook!

SOLAR ECLIPSE VIEWING: What a fun and interesting Monday afternoon spent outside. It was good to share the experience with several parents. The students will be sure to think back on the eclipse of 2024 when they are 20 years older in 2044 & 2045, the next opportunities to view a total solar eclipse in the US. Check out the slideshow on Facebook!

VOCATIONS DAY UPDATE: 6th & 7th graders will all be attending Vocations Day on Wednesday, May 1st, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbia. Thanks so much to Amber Schulte & Roselyn Wood for volunteering to drive our students.

ARCHERY NEWS: The older students have all now received their required training for the school year. Fourth graders did really well and are sufficiently trained. We thank Andy Adrian for a job well done! Your expertise is so much appreciated, Andy! We will ask for interest at the beginning of the school year to see if any students want to form an archery group to practice in the evenings.

HEAVY LIFTING! Thanks so much to Tom Olisgschlaeger and K of C members for picking up and bringing in the two fireproof filing cabinets last week. It took every one of a group of approximately 15 men to get the job done. State Surplus told us that the cabinets weighed 300 pounds each, but these guys are sure they meant 3000! These file cabinets were needed to store academic records and to meet an objective from our self-study evaluation we performed a few years ago.

FISHING DAY AT LEPPER LAKE for 2nd through 8th graders will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, departing from school @ 12:00 noon. We still need one more driver. To date we have the following drivers: Amber Schulte, Derrick Pringer, Joan Doerhoff, Tracie Brandt, Crystal Hoover, Tom Oligshlaeger, & Emily Schulte. Once we get ONE MORE DRIVER, we will send home permission forms; expect them to come home EARLY NEXT WEEK.

FIELD DAY-MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Much help will be needed that day. More details will be forthcoming.

GRATEFUL! Thanks so much to Emily Schulte, Amber Schulte, and Cindy McKenna, who have helped out through the year with monthly head checks. While not the most popular of our tasks here at school, it certainly is very needed and appreciated. Thanks, ladies, for your help!

ICE CREAM TO SUPPORT OUR $6000 GOAL TO HELP BUILD A SCHOOL IN UGANDA! During the last two weeks of school, students will have the opportunity near the end of each school day to purchase a frozen treat for $1. If students buy a treat every day they will be offered, they will need to bring in $8 BUT feel free to send in extra $ in support of the cause, to cover the expense, and for any student who may forget or not be able to afford a daily treat. Thank you for supporting this great cause!

SPELLING BEE: As of this printing, Spelling Bee results are not yet available. We will update the results in next week’s notes.
