RE-ENROLLMENT & APPLICATIONS: We have opened online enrollment for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Please take time now to re-enroll your student and make an application for your new student (if applicable). Directions were recently included in the folder, but if you need help, please contact Rosie in the school office. We would like to have all re-enrollment and new student enrollment completed by MONDAY, APRIL 14TH. All submitting the online enrollment packet by that date will receive a BONUS DRESS DOWN PASS for the new school year.

FISHING DAY: 3rd – 8th Grade Fishing Day at Lepper Lake is planned for this upcoming Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from approximately 12:00 noon through 3:00 pm. Please send in $ for Ice Cream 4 Ice Cream (see form enclosed). WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF DRIVERS FOR SIX STUDENTS – PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE WITH YOUR OFFER TO DRIVE! Parent Drivers – Please pull into parking lot behind gym. No need to enter the building, we will bring the students to you. We do have a limited number of fishing rods available for student use. However, if your child has their own, they are encouraged and welcome to bring it, along with any tackle & bait they may have.

FIELD DAY NEWS: Field Day is Tuesday, April 29th. Several members of the Field Day Committee met Monday night to begin to plan & coordinate this event. While they are still in early planning stages, we do know that much help will be needed for this event and we will need extra drinks & snacks that day. Please contact Amber Schulte in the school office if you can help that day, are able to provide drinks & snacks, or would like to help coordinate & plan.

PANTS/SHORTS POLICY: Full length pants must be worn October 1 – March 31. Administration may choose to designate a “short pants” day during this time frame.

Students may begin wearing shorts on an ongoing basis beginning April 1st.

STEP-UP MORNING – MONDAY, APRIL 28TH: We invite all new preschoolers and any new student to attend the “Step Up” morning, (7:30 am – 9:00 am) which will help orient our new enrollees to the “school experience”. All current students will advance to the next grade for that same period of time to get an idea of what their next school year might be like. Please contact Rosie or Amber in the school office if you are interested in sending your new student to join us that morning.

CANDY FOR EGGS & 7/8 GRADERS: Please send in candy or treats for our Easter Egg Hunt, which will be on Tuesday, April 22, when we return from Easter Break. We have plastic eggs – just need the treats to fill them with. Thank you!

FANTASY NIGHT 2025 DATE SET: Mark your calendar now for Saturday, October 18, 2025 for our Fantasy Night event. The date for this annual fundraiser was moved to the third weekend of the month due to our grill masters having a family wedding on the second weekend of October.

SERVICE HOURS: Please take time now to log service hours on your family portal. Remember that all households (between the two parents/guardians) must perform at least 20 hours of service to the school and/or parish each school year. This requirement does not include student service hours, which are performed within the classroom/school day. In lieu of the hours, you may choose to pay out the time @ $10/hr. (Next school year the fee will be $20/hr.). Please call Rosie in the school office if you have any questions.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL: Congratulations to Joan Doerhoff, Olivia Lepper, Emily Schulte & Adam Schwaller, recently elected and re-elected members of the Council. Thanks so much to all who offered their time & talent, agreeing to be on the ballot. We appreciate you so very much!

iREADY TEST SCORES are in today’s folder (for students in Grades K-8). If you have any questions, please contact the classroom teacher.

2025-26 NEWS:

  • Change in Staffing: Cindy Lepper (full retirement from head cook), Amber Grellner (resigning from OLOS and education - at least temporarily), Rosie Beck (slowly training her eventual replacement), Trinity Williamson (resigning from special class instruction)
  • New employees: Bryan Evers (head cook), Michele Kempker (3rd and 4th), & Amber Schulte (office assistant). We are still working on filling the position of assistant cook and a person(s) to help with specials. 
  • Classroom divisions for next year:  Preschool with Mrs. Groose – approximately 10-12 students, Kindergarten with Mrs. Belshe - 11 students, First & Second Grade with Mrs. Werdehausen - 12 students, Third & Fourth Grade with Mrs. Kempker - 5 students, 10 Fifth and Sixth Graders will be with Mrs. Hoecker and Mr. V will have 6 Seventh and Eighth Graders.  

7TH & 8TH GRADE PARENTS & STUDENTS: Vocations Night at Sacred Heart in Eldon on March 27th, 6-8 pm. Teens (7th grade on up) are invited to explore God’s call to marriage, priesthood, religious life, or mission through engaging breakout sessions. Adults & parents can learn how to support Vocations & implement Vocations Ministry in their parish. This event includes games, snacks, and pizza followed by an inspiring night of discovery. Fr. Simon will be one of the featured presenters! We strongly encourage all 7th & 8th students and parents to attend this local event.

REPORT CARDS – 3rd QUARTER: Report cards are available online through your FACTS parent portal. If you have not already done so, please review and then sign & return the slip provided in last week’s folder. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the classroom teacher. ·          Log into your account at factsmgt.com – use school code ols-mo and your username & password.

·          On left, click “Student”.

·          On left, directly under “Grades”, click “Report Card”.

·          If you have more than one student, you can switch between grade cards in the upper middle of the screen.

STUDENT SHOWCASE/MEET & GREET: Thanks to all who attended our event on Monday night in support of our students and our outreach efforts. We saw many happy faces and also many new faces! We thank Ms. Williamson for giving the students the opportunity to share some of their artwork with parents – they are proud of what they create! $ FOR UGANDA: THE 1st & 2nd graders were proud to raise $123.25 through their sales efforts last week. These students were studying a unit on producers and consumers, and Mrs. Werdehausen used this as an opportunity for a Christian Service project as well. We thank you, the parents, for sending in money to support their sales efforts. They did a great job! Check out the pictures on our Facebook page. The money raised will be sent with Father Simon the next time he returns home to support education in his home area.

STUDENT SHOWCASE/MEET & GREET: Come one, come all! You are invited and encouraged to share a little time with us ahead of the Home & School meeting this Monday, March 10th. We especially welcome those with new preschoolers, kindergartners, and new families. Stop by to meet with your child’s teacher, find out about enrollment, sign up for “Step Up Morning” in late April, and enjoy a light dinner. The “Student Showcase” (student work will be on display) will begin at 5:30 pm. Around approximately 6:00 pm, we will be serving a light dinner (sandwich, chip, soft drinks). Please then stay and join us for our final Home & School meeting for the 2024-25 school year, which will begin at 6:15 pm. (All attending earn a bonus dress down pass for their child.)

VIP DAY went very well! The students really love having their special people with them here at school, spending part of their morning enjoying their company. We thank Paige Chapman, Amanda Herigon & Rachel Kempker for coordinating this event. Your time & talent is so very much appreciated!

SHOW ME SUDS DELIVERY DATE: Show Me Suds products will be available for pickup on Sunday, March 9th in the gym, 4:00-5:30 pm. Thank you for your continued support of our school and parish youth. Through your efforts, the school made a profit of $1809. We thank Joan Doerhoff and family for all their hard work in the coordination of this fundraiser!
